An environment of abundant humidity and instability over our area, is generating the passage of an active tropical wave and the effects of a trough in the middle levels of the troposphere. For this reason, clouds will be generated with moderate to heavy downpours, thunderstorms and gusts of wind from morning hours and during the night, to various points in the regions: north, northeast, Caribbean coastal plain, as well as the mountain range Central and the border area. This downpour activity will extend to other areas of the country, as the tropical wave continues its movement to the west.
The National Meteorological Office (ONAMET), due to the expected rains, maintains a meteorological Alerts, before sudden floods of rivers, streams and ravines, urban floods and possible landslides.
The ONAMET National Meteorological Office also monitors a low-pressure area located a few hundred kilometers southeast of the Cape Verde Islands (Africa), which has a (0%) chance of becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.
For today it is expected Partly cloudy to cloudy with moderate to strong downpours and gusts of wind towards the regions: northeast, southeast, southwest, the border area and the mountainous systems.
