The Punta Cana International Airport (AIPC) is awarded for the fourth consecutive year for the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) or Airport Service Quality awards, such as the Best Airport by Size and Region, in the category of 5 to 15 million passengers in the Caribbean and Latin America.
The Airport Service Quality Awards (ASQ) represent the highest recognition for airport operators and distinguish the best airports in the world for their excellence in management and service, according to a Passenger Satisfaction Survey conducted by the International Airport Council (ACI).
Through the survey program, users reflect their satisfaction and rate the airlines according to the waiting time criteria in the billing process, as well as the efficiency, courtesy and friendliness of the staff.
Opened in 1983, Punta Cana International Airport was the first airport in the country to achieve this recognition and maintain it for four consecutive years, consolidating itself as one of the 10 main airports in Latin America and the most important in the insular Caribbean.
In addition, it is the first private international commercial airfield in the world, the one with the highest traffic in the Dominican Republic and the one with the highest connectivity in the Caribbean, linking 64 cities and 26 countries around the world, and mobilizing eight million passengers to the year.
